A race for the stayers and this looks all about Pondus and whether it can repeat its last start performance. Its main danger is from the Chris Waller stable and is Crystal Pegasus who is looking to make it four wins in a row. There is a gap in the market after that with Dadoozdart and Defibrillate among other chances.

1. Defibrillate (5)

Has to find a few lengths on the favourite and I am doubtful the weight swing is enough. The first up win from Defibrillate was outstanding and it certainly is in the mix but does have a bit to find to win this.

2. Pondus (3)

Wins if it runs to its last start effort. Very progressive type and the clear one to beat in this race. Distance suits going off the overseas runs. Deserves to be well in the market and should take a power of beating.

3. Sacramento (2)

Outstanding win last start and can lead these up again and give a sight. Has to be in the mix against this bunch and I think the form it brings is suitable.

4. Crystal Pegasus (7)

The danger to Pondus and it is very hard to knock the way Crystal Pegasus has been going. Certainly knows where the line is and brings in strong formlines. Will need a touch of luck from the draw but rock hard fit and has huge claims in this.

5. White Hawk (4)

The best chance at odds and wouldn’t shock at the $61 quote bringing in some handy Tasmanian form. Does need to find off its last few efforts but can certainly be entertained as a top 4 chance.

6. Dadoozdart (6)

Continues to hit the line hard and has been racing well without much luck. It has a tricky pattern to catch but can win if things fall into place and should  be kept safe.

7. Corbulo (1)

Deserves to be long odds.

8. Encosta Firorente (8)

Can’t have.
