Track: Likely Heavy Weather: Chance of Showers

Fourteen runners have accepted for the $160,000 Group 3 Doncaster Prelude and there have been no early scratchings. The Chris Waller stable saddle up five runners in the race whilst the other stables only have one entry each.

Mr Mozart is the early favourite following his sit and sprint effort in the Phar Lap Stakes. He won convincingly over the 1500m and it was his first go on a wet surface. Our Playboy is on the second line of betting after an average run last time out behind Kissonallforcheeks. He has been sent down to try and get a wet surface, which he will definitely get Saturday.

Just Folk is on the third line of betting after his impressive win in the Ajax Stakes.

Was a touch plain in the Canterbury Stakes which could have been the opposition and the ground. Back to Group 3 and up to a kinder distance.

2. Just Folk (10)

Good win last start in nice time. Loves the conditions but has drawn a touch awkward.

3. Aramayo (13)

Ran a nice race first up in the Newcastle Newmarket. Think he will want it firmer.

4. Brutality (6)

Ran solidly second-up behind Just Folk, drawn well to turn the tables. Prefer others.

5. Imaging (8)

First-up. Goes well first-up and had just the one trial in the lead-up to this. Loves the going and is drawn ideally to sit in a nice position.

6. Chat (2)

Can’t take on the current form.

7. Kukeracha (7)

Goes well first-up and handles the conditions. Might be a tough short for him though.

8. Fourhometwo (12)

Ordinary first-up in his Australian debut. Will likely appreciate this surface but I can’t have without seeing something.

9. The Frontman (3)

Gelded. Generally races well first-up and loves the wet. Take on trust.

10. Ashman (11)

Can’t Have.

11. Our Playboy (1)

Sent down to chase the wet tracks. Goes well second-up and form warrants respect.

12. Coastwatch (5)

Last start had a minor excuse but ran poorly compared to his usual performances. Can run a cheeky race.

13. Dajraan (4)

Prefer others.

14. Mr Mozart (14)

Drawn wide. Shouldn’t get the ease he had last start but if the heavy track improved his performance, he could go close again.
