Hareeba Stakes – 2022

Track: Good  Weather: Fine

Great race with potentially the favourite The Astrologist coming out and going elsewhere. There are plenty of chances in this and the speed will be on. That may well fall into the lap of a swooper such as Signore Fox with Oliver in the saddle. Sansom looks big odds and can be a huge improver while also noting its 1/1 at the track. La Mexicana is in the finish more often than not and Superium is bursting to win a race. There are many angles you can take here. Exciting race.

1. The Astrologist (2)

If The Astrologist does run here it demands huge respect. Super genuine, great draw, good map an and just doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Hard to beat in this.

2. Signore Fox (5)

Trialling well and enormous hope fresh. I’m not convinced Oliver is in very good form but Signore Fox is right in this at quite generous odds.

3. Sansom (12)

Ripping chance. Is 1/1 at the track and flies over this trip. Ben Allen has ridden Sansom 16 times for 8 wins and it has undeniable claims in this.

4. Great Again (1)

Does go well fresh and over this trip. Market support would be ideal but has the right draw and can give a sight.

5. Superium (10)

Extremely tricky to catch, needs a win and just the 4 career wins from 25 starts says a lot about its racing pattern. That being said, is very well placed here and wouldn’t surprise one bit. Not for me but hard to beat.

6. La Mexicana (11)

Likes this trip and a career place rate of 73% says it will likely be in the finish. Great chance.

7. Hightail (4)

The best version of Hightail wins this although we haven’t seen that for quite some time. I’d want a market push before considering but it is capable.

8. Vainstream (8)

A huge step up in grade but did show drastic improvement last start. Goes from BM78 to a stakes race however it isn’t hopeless at odds.

9. Chassis (3)

Very good trials and proven fresh. The stable know how to get them ready and any market support would be ideal. Good hope.

10. Maritana (6)

This is a step up in grade but 3/4 at the track and 6/9 over this trip are unbelievable stats. Right in this at big odds and my best chance at double figures.

11. Not An Option (7)

Would need to see a market push before considering.

12. Award Winner (9)

Honest as the day is long and can certainly win this race despite the awkward map. Gets in light and brings in the right kind of form. Flying under the radar at big odds currently.
