The Straight Six 2023 Race Details
Race 6 at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday the 13th May 2023.
The Straight Six is a Listed race held at Flemington racecourse over 1200 metres down the straight. It is run under open handicap conditions. The total prizemoney is $175,000 this year.

The Straight Six 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Eleven have accepted for the $175,000 Listed Straight Six Handicap. D’jumbuck has won three of his last four and as a result comes up favourite. Danny O’Brien’s gelding It’sourtime loves the straight and is second favourite. Mares She’s All Class and Barbie’s Fox have returned well, while Zorro’s Dream and Prowling both look to have each way chances at a price.
The Straight Six 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Buffalo River
Was grabbed right on the post by Cardinal Gem at Sandown last start. Interesting they now come back in trip to 1200m for the first time in his career. Has done all his racing at 1400m and 1600m in the past. Would not shock to see him in the money.
2. She’s All Class
Won the Abell Stakes at Moonee Valley two back and her run last start at Mornington was solid. Chance.
3. Jimmy The Bear
Resumes. He’s a talented four year old but suspect he will be looking for a touch further than this.
4. D’jumbuck
D’jumbuck is airborne this prep. Has won three of his last four and has had a nice jump out in between runs. Maps for the right run and looks a deserved favourite.
5. It’sourtime
Scratched at the gates at the Wangoom last week. Thought his run against the bias in the Geelong Discovery was very good and he loves the straight. Only knock is that he hasn’t won for a while.
6. Barbie’s Fox
Was a good Sandown winner last start against the mares. I don’t think she is suited back in trip plus she has to do it against the boys now.
7. Mr Exclusive
Resumes. Needs further.
8. Zorro’s Dream
His last two have been very good. Drops in weight and gets a positive jockey change here. Look for him flying at them late.
9. Prowling
Had jumped out impressively before a big win first up at Pakenham. Down in the weights for this. Not hopeless.
10. Tycoon Humma
Outclassed. Place best.
11. Brereton
Three year old who was sixth behind Giga Kick here in the spring. I’m happy to watch him here first up.
