Race 1 at Scone Racecourse on Saturday the 13th of May 2023.

The Woodlands Stakes is a Listed race held at Scone Racecourse and is run over 1100 metres. It is run under quality handicap conditions and is for fillies aged two-years-old. The total prize money is $160,000 this year.

Track: Good Weather: Fine

If trials and form lines are anything to go off by then Saltaire looks the one in this. Showed an abundance of speed in a recent trial and will prove mighty hard to hold out in this affair. Dipsy Doodle showed plenty of speed to kick clear in a gritty last start win and can go on with things in this while In My Dreams is a first starter from the Newnham yard and warrants respect on debut.

Brings in the best form and ratings of this lot. Looked amazing in a recent trial and just needs to overcome the slightly tricky draw to be winning.

2. Dipsy Doodle (5)

Came off the canvas to win last start and aided by a good strong steer. Gibbo hops off and just not sure about the form. Hard to beat but short enough.

3. Everlong (4) – SCRATCHED

4. Hip Hip Hurrah (2)

Good debut win when doing a bit wrong. Can go on with things here but does strike a race of depth.

Prefer others.

Market watch on debut.

Can’t have.

8. In My Dreams (1)

Has trialled well and been backed in early markets. Maps kindly and can take this out.
