Sydney Stakes 2023 Race Details
Race 6 at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday the 14th of October 2023.
The Sydney Stakes is a Group 3 race held at Randwick Racecourse and is run over 1200 metres. It is for horses aged three-years-old and older and is run under weight-for-age conditions. The total prize money is $2,000,000 this year.

Sydney Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Open field. Bella Nipotina is a dual acceptor and if she doesn’t run here she is a huge chance. Has to be respected in a field of this depth. Vilana goes in the mix but will need a touch of luck from barrier 7. King Of Sparta is much the same jumping from barrier 17 but does have claims in this while I Am Me knows where the line is and has plenty of class. Handy race with plenty of hopes.

Has plenty of class and is the one to beat but has a very tough draw to contend with and will need things to fall into place.
2. Vilana (7)
Maps a little tricky from barrier 7 but one of the best horses in this race and is well up to this grade. Goes on top.

Can’t have.
4. Rocketing By (1)
Won this last year. I have been tipping Rocketing By persistently for no reward so letting it go in this but wouldn’t shock with a win.
5. Coal Crusher (3)
Prefer others.
6. It’sourtime (11)
Leaning to others.
7. Jojo Was A Man (6)
Can’t have.
8. Art Cadeau (4)
Looks outclassed.
9. Inver Park (10)
Prefer others.
10. Shelby Sixtysix (8)
No form for this.
11. Airman (9)
Racing in really good style and comes into this race as the X-factor. Bowman does the steering and just needs luck at the right time to play a role in the finish.
12. Greyworm (2)
Can’t have.
13. Bella Nipotina (16)
She may run elsewhere but is a huge chance in this. The Amelia’s Jewel form reads super but does map a bit tricky. Clear one to beat if they run here.
14. Zapateo (14)
Gets the right race here and has plenty of class. Hasn’t missed the quinella fresh and looks a big hope.
15. I Am Me (13)
Classy runner that has a brilliant record. Handed no favours from the draw but can land on speed and prove very tough to get past.
16. Argentia (5)
Mixing form but is good enough to trouble these. Keep an eye on the market moves.

Can’t have.
18e. Smashing Eagle (15)
