Tricky race to sort. Cleveland is due for a win and ticks plenty of boxes. Has come up favourite and rightly so. Benaud is hard to catch and short enough but has the ability. Kalapour looks well placed from the kind draw and Major Beel can land up on the speed and give a good kick. Eyes will be on Land Legend who comes across from the UK and has very strong form lines for this.

Five runners had their last start in the Group 1 The Metropolitan over 2400m at Randwick on 30th September.

1. Major Beel (3)

Can land on speed and give a bold sight. Suited by the draw and will be hard to peg back if it gets its on ways up in front.

2. Kalapour (5)

Has claims from the good draw and strikes a winnable race. Respect any market moves.

3. Cleveland (4)

Hard to beat with the kind map and gun jockey. Has been threatening to win one in AUS and gets the right chance in this. If he can settle in the run he will be very hard to hold out.

4. Benaud (2)

Short in the market but does have claims. Tricky to catch from a punting perspective but has the turn of foot to threaten.

5. Torrens (1)

Can’t have.

6. True Marvel (9)

Luckless last start. Much harder here but not hopeless.

7. Outlandos (10)

Racing well and gets a good chance in this despite the tricky gate. An in form Willo steers.

8. Raging Bull (6)

Can’t have.

9. Apache Belle (8)

Prefer others.

10. Land Legend (7)

UK raider that brings in some strong form. Respect any market moves and that will tell the tale late towards its chances.
