Two runners had their last start in the Group 1 Moir Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley on 29th September. The early favourite is the Henry Dwyer trained Asfoora who was 2nd to Imperatriz in the Moir. The second favourite is Uncommon James who ran 3rd in that race. Third favourite is Chain Of Lightning resuming after 16 weeks. Ingratiating ran 2nd in this race last year and is the only other runner under double figures.

Ran 2nd in this race last year. Has had a 6 week let-up after running 3rd in the Group 3 The Heath 1100 over 1100m at Caulfield on 2nd September. Goes well fresh and can’t be dismissed.

2. Uncommon James (6)

Resumed for 3rd to Imperatriz and Asfoora in the Moir where he was taking ground off the 2nd horse late. Gets blinkers on for the first time and should fight out the finish.

3. Curran (8)

Returns from an 18 week break . Prefer others.

4. Lombardo (4)

Resumes from a 26 week break and was disappointing last campaign. Looking elsewhere.

5. Key Largo (3)

First-up after 26 weeks and has trialled okay. Not the worst.

6. Home Rule (7)

Won when resuming at Morphettville Parks then was 0.7 length 3rd over 955m at Moonee Valley on 29th September. Place chance.

7. Asfoora (5)

Ran 2nd to New Zealand star Imperatriz in the Moir when a new track record was set. Winning chance.

8. Chain Of Lightning (1)

Resuming after 16 weeks and goes well first-up. Chance.
