Two of the runners had their last start in the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes over 2040m at Moonee Valley on 23rd March (won by Antrim Coast), while the rest came via different races. Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) have 3 runners.

The early favourite is Air Assault who comes off back-to-back wins over 1600m at Morphettville. Second favouritism is currently split between Bold Soul who is back from a let-up and aiming for 4 consecutive wins, and Rise at Dawn who won 2 in a row before 6 lengths 10th in the Alister Clark. Warmonger has 2 wins and a place from his 5 starts. All other runners are currently $10 or longer.

Comes off back-to-back wins over 1600m at Morphettville where he won by decent margins. One of the major hopes.

2. Bold Soul (4)

Back from a let-up and aiming for 4 consecutive wins after wins at Flemington, Launceston and Hobart. Solid claims.

3. Warmonger (3)

Has 2 wins and a place from his 5 starts. Resumed for 6th over 1600m at Pakenham and won second-up last time in. Place chance.

4. Rise At Dawn (7)

Won 2 in a row before 6 lengths 10th in the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes over 2040m at Moonee Valley on 23rd March (won by Antrim Coast). returns to an easier race and a shorter trip. Place chance.

5. Shinjuku (12)

Has won 2 of 3 starts this campaign. Not the worst.

6. Warialda Warrior (2)

Won over 1600m at Dubbo last start but this is much harder.

7. Under The Cone (13)

Won a BM 72 over 1600m at Morphttville last start. Not keen.

8. On The Scent (10)

Won a maiden at Murray Bridge then won his next start over 1900m at Oakbank. Sneaky place chance.

9. Gawnski (6)

Comes off a maiden win at Mornington. Looking to others.

10. Voracious (9)

Won a maiden at Pakenham and having his first city race. Unlikely.

11. Artful Tawny (8)

Ran last of 6 at his latest outing. Not keen.

12. The Last Dance (11)

Won his maiden at Murray Bridge on 3rd April. Prefer others.

13. Saban (5)

Has had 2 starts. Ran 2nd at Sandown Lakeside on 27th March. Still a maiden and this is too strong.
