Sapphire Stakes 2024 Race Details
Race 10 at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday the 13th of April 2024.
The Sapphire Stakes is a Group 2 race held at Randwick Racecourse and is run over 1200 metres. It is for fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upwards and is run under set weights and penalties conditions. The total prize money is $300,000 this year.

Sapphire Stakes 2024 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Red Card can be hard to catch but should prove hard to beat on best ability. Both wins this prep have been strong. Tashi has good upside and is well suited to this field. Miss Hellfire is consistent and looks a big hope in this. Mumbai Muse has the right form lines to go close while C’est Magique is having a good prep and should be around the mark.
Sapphire Stakes 2024 Runner by Runner
1. Red Card (14)
Looks to have come back a better Mare and she can offset the wide draw with her early speed. Both wins this prep have been excellent. Looks very hard to hold out. This race is no harder than last start.
2. C’est Magique (9)
Just fair last run but the start prior would put her in the mix. Due for a win is the knock. Place chance.
3. Wee Nessy (3)
Racing well but like some of these, is due for a win. Maps for a good time of it from barrier 3 and not hopeless here.
4. Tashi (11)
Has been racing in good fashion and Chain Of Lightning, the horse it ran 2nd to last start, has come out and won again since. That bodes well for this.
5. Mumbai Muse (6)
Bounced back to form last start and does have plenty of quality and ability. Over the odds in this.
6. Pippali (7)
Can’t have.
7. Miss Hellfire (8)
Sound in a strong race last start in QLD. Looks suited to this field and was going along very consistently prior. Hard to beat.
8. Dalchini (1)
Prefer others.
9. Mirra View (10)
This looks too tough.
10. Rainbiel (4)
Can’t have.
11. Miss Faberge (12)
Leaning to others.
12. Everyone’s A Star (5)
Prefer others.
13. Wolves (13)
This looks too tough.
14. Saltaire (2)
Looks too short here. Stuck on 1 career wins from 11 starts and has proven very hard to catch. Happy to avoid.
15. Ballroom Bella (15)
Prefer others.
