There are 13 runners for the 2024 The Fotobase Group Redelva Stakes with 4 geldings and 9 fillies. Three of the runners had their last start in a 3YO BM 66 Handicap over 1050m at Oakbank on 30th March (won by Great Maximus), two in the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 23rd March (won by Gumdrops) and two in a 3YO BM 64 Handicap over 1250m at Morphettville Parks on 16th March (won by Sir Sway), while the rest came via different races. Trainers Richard & Chantelle Jolly and Andrew Gluyas both have 2 runners each.

The early favourite is Austmarr who is going for a hat-trick after wins at Sandown Lakeside then Morphettville. Second favourite is Stretan Angel who ran 4th in the Listed Sunlight Classic at Flemington last start. Third favourite is Gumdrops who won the Typhoon Tracy last start. Great Maximus won at Oakbank last outing and has won both of his starts, while Lovely Lookin’ finished 3rd behind him. All other runners are currently $15 or longer.

1. Stretan Angel (1)

Ran 4th in the Listed Sunlight Classic at Flemington last start and has 2 wins and 2 places from 6 starts. One of the chances.

2. Gumdrops (3)

Won the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 23rd March by 1.3 lengths last start. She now has 3 wins and a place from 5 starts and is my top pick.

3. Treasurway (12)

Only has one win from 13 starts and has drawn wide. Prefer others.

4. Sir Sway (8)

Has raced 5 times for 3 wins and 2 places. Last start he won over 1250m at Morphettville Parks on 16th March. This is his toughest test but it wouldn’t surprise to see him in the finish.

5. Great Maximus (10)

Won a 3YO BM 66 Handicap over 1050m at Oakbank on 30th March to give him 2 wins from 2 starts. One of 2 runners for Richard & Chantelle Jolly and has to be included in the chances.

6. Anotherhouse (2)

Finished worse than midfield behind Sir Sway last start. Blinkers go on. Prefer others.

7. Oakland Raider (4)

Won at Balaklava before 2nd to Great Maximus at Oakbank last start. Not the worst.

8. Austmarr (9)

Going for a hat-trick after a 1.8 length win at Sandown Lakeside on 21st February then a 3.5 length win at Morphettville on 11th March. She has 4 wins and 3 places from 9 starts and looks the likely winner.

9. Atlantic Spirit (11)

Winner of her last 2 at Kyneton and Sandown Hillside, but this is much harder.

10. Walk Like An Angel (6)

Disappointed to finish 10 lengths behind Gumdrops at Moonee Valley last start. Looking elsewhere.

11. Extremely Rowdy (13)

Drawn the extreme outside. Hasn’t started since November. Prefer to see.

12. Lovely Lookin’ (7)

Finished 3rd behind Great Maximus at Oakbank and has won 3 of her 7 starts. Could surprise.

13. Vexatious Dancer (5)

Last start winner over 1100 at Morphettville on 24th February and has won a recent Murray Bridge trial. Place chance.
