Golden Mile – 2024

Track: Good Weather: Fine

Very open field. Golden Path didn’t have much luck fresh and should give this a shake. Euphoric is never far away and has a very good turn of foot. Foxy Frida is a bit off her best but hasn’t missed the quinella at this track and must be respected off that. The Summit was sound last start while Makram was a surprise winner fresh and steady last run. Goes in the mix in what is a very tricky race to sort.

Can’t have.

2. Just Folk (17)

Class runner that will need a stack of luck from out there but goes in as a place chance. Has class on this field and plenty of wins to its name. Has won on this track.

3. Foxy Frida (7)

Goes on top. Concede its form doesn’t read much but maps for a lovely run, hasn’t missed the quinella from 3 goes on this track and Egan is 7/15 aboard. Ticks enough boxes to make a winning claim.

4. Makram (8)

Huge win fresh then just sound last start. Goes in the mix off a short break.

5. Sibaaq (1)

Hard to catch and likely wanting further. May find a bit too much trouble from barrier 1. Leaning to others.

6. Wild Planet (9)

Can’t have.

7. Frankie Pinot (2)

Has been okay this prep. Looks short enough in the market but maps for a good run. Sound chance.

8. Stageman (3)

Prefer others.

9. The Summit (16)

Solid 2nd last start and can go on with things. No favours from the barrier but has the speed to offset the draw. Goes in the mix.

10. Belle Plaisir (14)

Will need luck from the barrier but has posted 2 second placings this prep and can give this a shake.

11. Rolls (5)

Prefer others.

12. Sir Davy (10)

Can’t have.

13. El Soleado (13)

Has the ability and didn’t have luck last start. Will need the gaps at the right time and has been up a while this prep but hard to knock all the same.

14. Teewaters (15)

Prefer others.

15. Taramansour (11)

This looks too tough.

16. Euphoric (6)

Consistent runner with a good turn of foot. Barrier 6 looks ideal and is a big chance if it has them within range on the bend. The 2nd up record from 2 attempts reads one win and one second.

17e. Golden Path (4)

No luck last start and maps for a kind run from barrier 4. Suited here and Mertens does the steering. Marked it longer odds but still deserving of being well in the market.
