2023 Perth Stakes Runner by Runner

1. Snow Prince (4)

One of two runners for trainers Sean & Jake Casey (the other is On Patrol). He debuted for a 0.9 length win in a 2YO Plate over 1200m at Ascot on 28 January, then finished 2nd in the Listed Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 18 February after being wide most of the way. Rates highly.

2. Home James (8)

He has had a win and a place from 3 starts, and returns here from a 12 week let-up. Should run well again.

3. Alotofbanter (1)

Won his only start over 1000m at Ascot on 4 March. Drawn perfectly in barrier 1 and looks one of the main hopes.

4. Happy As Larry (7)

Finished 2nd at his first two starts back in January, both over 1200m at Ascot, then got caught wide in a strong race to finish 4 lengths 6th over 1200m at Ascot on 25 March. On a 7 day back-up and is a place chance.

5. On Patrol (3)

Ran 2.9 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Belmont on 22 March at his only start.  Could place.

6. Bondi Bubbles (10)

Debuted for 3.8 lengths 5th in the Listed Supremacy Stakes over 1000m at Ascot on 18 March. He was definitely unlucky in that race as he was blocked for the majority of the straight, was held-up and lost a plate. Has drawn the outside barrier.

7. Blue Lagoon (9)

One of two runners for trainer Susan Olive (the other is Catch The Red Eye). Kept coming steadily for 0.3 length 3rd over 1000m at Belmont on 14 December at her only start. Resumes after 15 weeks and won a recent Belmont trial. Place hope.

8. Catch The Red Eye (5)

Only beat one runner home at her first start. Prefer others.

9. Bolta (2)

On debut. Watch the betting.

10. Ripcord (6)

Makes his debut here after winning a Belmont trial by 4.9 lengths. One of the chances.
