Newcastle Gold Cup 2023 Preview
Track: Soft Weather: Fine
Open field engaged. Cleveland bounced back to form last start but gets no favours from the barrier. Hosier mixes its form but best sees it go close. Kalapour is a model of consistency and can measure up to this lot. Bois D’argent goes in the mix but will need luck from the bad draw while Sir Lucan can lead these up and give a sight.
Many runners had their last run in the Listed Wyong Cup, Group 3 Premier’s Cup or the Listed City Tatts Cup.

Should be able to lead these up and give a bold sight. Maps well from barrier 7 and looks hard to hold out against this lot. Large claims in this field.
8. Hosier (13)
Mixes form but best efforts are good enough to give this race a shake. Keep safe from the wide barrier.
9. Desert Icon (1)
Not racing at its best but should get every hope from barrier 1. Keep safe.
10. Kalapour (20)
Consistent but needs a really good rise from the draw. Goes in the mix.
11. Spirit Ridge (15)
Strong run last start and just has to hold its form to figure. Top 3 player with even luck from the draw.

Can’t have.

Harder here. Leaning to others.
14. Military Mission (14)
Hoped for more last run. Keep an eye on the market for any moves and respect them.
