Track: Good Weather: Fine

Twelve runners have accepted for the inaugural 7 Stakes with 8 geldings and 4 mares. There are three 4YOs, four 5YOs, three 6YOs and two 8YOs. Six runners had their last start in the Group 2 Tramway Stakes over 1400m at Randwick on 2nd September, three in the Group 1 Winx Stakes over 1400m at Randwick on 19th August and two in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes over 1600m at Randwick on 2nd September while the other runner is first-up from a 23 week spell. Chris Waller has 3 runners and Annabel Neasham has 2.

The early favourite is Fangirl who won the Winx Stakes when resuming from a 20 week spell. Second favourite is Zaaki who resumed to run 3nd in the Winx Stakes and goes well second-up. Third favourite is Think It Over who only just missed last start, finishing half a length back from the winner in the Chelmsford Stakes. Pericles is looking for a hat-trick after winning the Spring Preview Handicap then the Tramway Stakes. The rest of the runners are currently $10 or more.

Only just missed last start, finishing half a length back from the winner in the Chelmsford Stakes. Has won 8 races at Randwick and won’t be far away.

2. Zaaki (6)

Resumed to run 3nd in the Winx Stakes and goes well second-up. Has returned well and is one of the main chances.

3. Arapaho (9)

Resumes here after 23 weeks and has trialled.  Will be heading for longer races.

4. My Oberon (3)

Finished 6th in the Tramway . Prefer others.

5. Zeyrek (5)

Good return when 4th in the Tramway. Another that will be heading for longer races but could place.

6. Diamil (7)

Finished last in the Tramway but always needs his first-up run. Looking to others.

7. Hoo Ya Mal (4)

Came here for the 2022 Melbourne Cup where he ran 12th. Resumed for 5th in the Chelmsford. Could show up.

8. Pericles (11)

Looking for a hat-trick after winning the Spring Preview Handicap then the Tramway Stakes. Should be competitive.

9. Fangirl (10)

Won the Winx Stakes when resuming from a 20 week spell. Hard to beat.

10. Going Global (1)

Can’t have.

11. Hinged (8)

Ran a length back from the winner when resuming in the Winx Stakes. Place chance.

12. Fireburn (12)

Drawn the outside barrier. Prefer in a mares race.
