2022 Tobin Bronze Stakes Race Details
Race 5 at Morphettville on Saturday 7 May 2022.
The Tobin Bronze Stakes is a Group 2 1200 metre set weights race for the three-year-olds that is run by the South Australian Jockey Club in May. It is normally run at Morphettville during the Adelaide Racing Carnival.

Tobin Bronze Stakes 2022 Preview
Track: Good possible Soft Weather: Possible Shower.
Nine runners have accepted for the $202,250 Group 2 Tobin Bronze Stakes and there have been no early scratchings. The Ciaron Maher/David Eustace stable has two entries in the race whilst the other trainers have just one entry each.
Marine One opens the early favourite with Jamie Kah aboard after an 84-day break following a successful campaign that concluded with a win in the Rubiton Stakes. General Beau is coming into this race after four decent runs with his latest being a placing in the Bel Esprit Stakes. Extremely Lucky rounds out the top 3 in the betting and he brings in the inexperience of the race, only having two runs in his career with his latest being a luckless second in benchmark 78 company.
Tobin Bronze Stakes Runner by Runner
1. Marine One (9)
First-up. Yet to be proven over 1200m but he does have some class. I think they have bigger targets in mind so I expect him to need this run. Deserved favourite.
2. General Beau (1)
Has the runs on the board and wouldn’t be surprised if this was a target. Blinkers go on for the first time, Daniel Moor jumps aboard and he is drawn ideally. Has to be a big chance.
3. Bacchanalia (2)
Didn’t do a lot in the Redelva Stakes despite having the dream run. Will need to improve and is a solid place chance.
4. Manhatten Times (8)
Racing consistently but this is the biggest test to date. Place chance.
5. Karacasu (6)
Looks outclassed after having his chance last start in a benchmark 78.
6. Magic Max (3)
Can’t have on recent form.
7. Extremely Lucky (5)
Can make a nice improvement but this is pretty tough. Mark Zahra takes the ride which is ideal so I will leave him a place chance.
8. Sneaky Five (7)
Last two runs are far from her best. The crossover noseband goes on. Need to see improvement.
9. Seradess (4)
Blinkers go on for the first time. I expect a solid run but to be outclassed.
