How to pick a winner

The Lord Mayor’s Cup Preview

Track: Soft Weather: Fine

A race dominated by the Chris Waller stable with 3 fancies in the market including Bigboyroy, Hungry Heart & Kolding. All have very strong claims and Hungry Heart does look mighty hard to beat finally getting back to a dry deck. Zayydani finds Luke Nolen to steer and sits on the third line of betting and is the main danger to the Waller fancies.

The Lord Mayor’s Cup Runner by Runner

1. Kolding (4)

1/1 at the track and suited by the ground drying up. Does no work from the draw and on best form looks a massive chance in this.

2. Hungry Heart (2)

My top selection given that Hungry Heart finally gets back onto a dry track. Peaks 4th up and forget its pst few runs on unsuitable surfaces. Deserves to be favourite in this.

3. Berdibek (11)

Looks ready to show its best and will appreciate getting out in trip. Big improver but first look at the track is some query. Top 4 hope.

4. Zayydani (7)

Honest galloper that scored a massive win here not long ago and looks suited coming back to Eagle Farm again. 4/6 with Nolen in the saddle and is currently over the odds.

5. Ballistic Boy (9)

Major player given its huge second up record and excellent record at the track. Demands respect in this.

6. Criaderas (10)

Hard to catch with its running pattern but will get back and be hitting the line with plenty of intent. Chance but needs luck in running as usual.

7. Bigboyroy (12)

Hard to beat however I am leaning to the stablemate who is a slightly better price in Hungry Heart. Big respect to Roy, he is racing very well.

8. Djukon (5)

Djukon must be respected in this with a very strong 4th up record. Did a bit wrong last run and doesn’t have a great record at the track but does look a strong chance at odds.

9. Star Of Michelin (1)

Needs a bit of luck from barrier 1 with its pattern but does love racing here and has solid claims in this field.

10. Barade (6)

Can’t have.

11. Lunakorn (3)

Desperate for a dry track and may get that here. Barrier 3 suits and has the class to take this out.

12. Galaxy Belle (8)

1/1 at the track is a big tick but has been mixing form. Keep an eye on the market.
