How to pick a winner

The Premier’s Cup Preview

Track: Soft Weather: Rain

An even race where the market is headed by Steel Prince who is coming off a strong and deserving win. Flash Aah has been knocking on the door and will be hitting the line hard with Daniel Moor in the saddle. Splendiferous continues to race well and strikes another winnable race and Stardome is also in the mix from the Chris Waller stable.

The Premier’s Cup Runner by Runner

1. Spirit Ridge (15)

Continues to race well and will land on the speed and give a sight. Barrier 15 isn’t easy but has plenty of early speed and should make its own luck again.

2. King Of Leogrance (3)

Has a strong 3rd up record but does need to lift on form.

3. Steel Prince (13)

Hard to beat coming off a strong win last start. Barrier 13 is a bit sticky but does have claims in this race. Slightly short in this field with a few chances at value.

4. Flash Aah (12)

Racing well and does enjoy a wet track. Hans’t missed the quinella at Doomben and looks a chance for the first four.

5. London Banker (5)

Needs to lift on form. Hard to have unless it shows more.

6. Swords Drawn (7)

Respecting the placement here but does tend to mix form thus far. Keep an eye on the market.

7. Seat Of Power (2)

Should be finding the front and will not have to do any work from the draw. Solid claims here with Ben Thompson in the saddle and does currently look over the odds in an even race.

8. Stardome (9)

Was knocking on the door for a win and got it done last start. Stardome tends to mix its form a little but is certainly good enough to take this out.

9. Alakahan (10)

Really needs to lift on current form to be in the mix for this.

10. Smart Meteor (1)

Racing well enough and should do no work from the draw. May need some luck with its running pattern but has a chance if it can find the gaps along the rail.

11. Humbolt Current (4)

Terribly hard to catch but does love racing here. Not for mine.

12. Splendiferous (14)

Back in trip suits and Tim Clark is an excellent booking. If left alone up front it will be very hard to mow down in this.

13. Sweet Thomas (8)

Can’t have.

14. Traduce (16)

Well backed last start and was slightly disappointing. Top 4 claims if it can lift.

15. Soprano Supreme (11)

Not much between it and Stardome so has to be respected here and just needs a tow into the race to be going close.

16. The Fearless One (6)

Racing well and looks a major player in this field launching from the ideal gate. Comes from Tasmania for this, respecting the stable placement.
