Track: Soft Weather: Fine

Always a great race to watch and this year looks no different with a very even field engaged. Rustic Steel represents the Kris Lees yard and is coming off a strong last start win. Kirwan’s Lane has an undeniable bond with Tommy Sherry and looks well placed to be in the finish again and Dr Drill creates intrigue with the booking of James Mcdonald. Even tempo expected.

1. Berdikek (18)

Well placed back in grade and just needs to find cover from the draw to be a huge chance in this race. Good each-way odds are available.

2. Our Playboy (16)

Can bounce back in this after just an average run last start. The stable have a huge opinion of Our Playboy and it is certainly up to winning a race like this.

3. Kirwans Lane (15)

Has never missed the quinella with Tommy Sherry aboard and looks primed to win again. Tricky draw but it tends to get back in its races anyways and even luck in running sees it very hard to beat in this race.

4. Ballistic Boy (11)

Has put together some good performances fresh so Ballistic Boy looks very well placed here. Big odds available for a classy galloper.

5. Dr Drill (13)

1/1 at the track and the booking creates plenty of interest. Won this race in 2020. The stable are the best in the land with their stayers and Dr Drill is a major player in this race.

6. Art Cadeau (11)

Suited if the track dries up as it does not enjoy heavy conditions. Has never missed the quinella 4th up and is as honest as they come. Should be in the finish.

7. Atishu (20)

Needs speed up front and plenty of things to go right from barrier 20 but that may just happen. Classy and has the right form for this but will be banking on the gaps to open up or will have to circle the field from last.

8. Lightning Jack (6)

Not known to perform first up. Keep an eye on the market.

9. Criaderas (7)

Tricky racing pattern to catch. Has been a little overlooked by the markets and does have the turn of foot to win this. Seriously overdue for a win and this race isn’t easy but it certainly wouldn’t shock.

10. Rustic Steel (4)

Excellent last start win and maps better than most of its rivals. Stays down in the weights and is hardest to beat in this.

11. Profit (8)

Gets along with the jockey very well and can camp just off the speed. Needs to find a career peak but not hopeless at odds.

12. Solider Of Love (17)

Does fly 2nd up but has to improve on form. A market push would be ideal.

13. Fender (10)

Best chance at odds. Suited with a few things here and the stable are going in with a bit of confidence. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fender in the finish in this.

14. Throin (9)

Can’t have.

15. Sambro (3)

Waller places them well in these races but does need to lift on form.

16. Bobbing (2)

Can’t have.

17. Regal Stage (19)

Barrier 19 will be awfully tricky. Can win if left alone up front but I would like to see a market push.

18. Diamil (1)

On the quick backup and might be able to rail through and win this. Avdulla is in excellent form and Diamil has a sharp turn of foot. Good chance here.

19. Knight (14)

Can’t have.

20. Wild Chap (14)

Long odds, prefer others.
