Competitive race with 5 chances below the $10.00. Alnaseem creates interest off some strong trials and coming from a leading stable. The market while likely play a big role towards its chances while Derulo and Sikandarabad come out of the Talis Stakes and bring the right form to the table. Chris Waller holds a strong deck of cards in this with Bullfinch and Bigboyroy and the favourite Diamil gets the services of Jamie Kah.

1. Criaderas (2)

Never been one of mine with a woeful running pattern but does have a very good turn of foot when right. This prep has been poor and is looking for a drier track. It certainly can win this at odds and if enough speed is on upfront it will be hitting the line harder than anything.

2. Bigboyroy (10)

Has never missed the placings on soft ground and James Mcdonald riding is a boost to the chances of the horse but also a sign of how well it is going. Likeable in this despite the wide draw.

3. Sikandarabad (8)

Winning strike rate is a concern but has some extremely good form and only needs even luck in running to play a role in the finish.

4. Derulo (7)

Has the right form and should be hitting the line well. Handles all conditions and importantly has a very strong fourth up record. Major player.

5. Alnaseem (3)

Could be too good for these and a market watch is strongly advised. Barrier 3 will ensure an economical run in transit and Tommy Berry is a suitable booking.

6. Bullfinch (9)

Loves racing on this track and unbeaten over the 1600 so ticks plenty of boxes. Where too from barrier 9 is the query but William Pike does the steering and it holds strong claims.

7. He’s Got Power (6)

Can’t have.

8. Diamil (4)

Maps perfectly from barrier 4 and brings across some strong Sydney form. Likeable in this race and any market support would be a bonus.

9. Tavis Town (5)

Suited if the track is very heavy and maps to stalk the speed. KWT is riding in very good form and as a whole, this race is winnable.

10. Fifteen Rounds (1)

Prefer in something a bit easier but does come into play on a heavy track.

11. Our Rebel (11)

Overlooked after having no luck first up. Not hopeless at cricket score odds.
