Track: Heavy Weather: Rain

Super race with Mazu leading the market and certainly should go close to winning this considering it has just secured slots in The Everest for the next 2 years. It will not be a walk in the park with Generation form the Maher Eustace camp posing a big danger. Kementari has certainly hit its straps and also looks a major player in this with a dash of class on these.

1. Kementari (3)

Had the reputation of a non-winner but has clearly put that stigma to bed. Knows how to win and win well, also relishes heavy conditions and Nash rides the horse better than anyone. Does no work from the draw and is a huge hope.

2. Vega One (1)

Big odds here. Has a lethal turn of foot and can win when the tempo is on. Barrier one does not suit its running pattern at all but can not be ruled out.

3. Count De Rupee (5)

Hit the line hard to win last start and is utterly airborne this prep. Brock Ryan knows the horse extremely well and maps for a beautiful run from barrier 5.

4. Zoustyle (11)

Classy and has a very strong second up record. Barrier 11 will require some luck in running but can win this.

5. Rothfire (7)

Hasn’t retuned to its electric best since resuming from injury and the heavy ground is no help whatsoever here. He can win this with ease if he finds his best but the price looks fair given his past few runs.

6. Shelby Sixtysix (14)

Needs a spell and just continues to run. Was flying not long ago but the past few runs says tired horse for mine and I am surprised it is up in prep still. Happy to overlook, needs the paddock on its form, albeit does have a stack of ability.

7. Signore Fox (9)

Suited if the track dries out and can’t be dismissed against these. Couldn’t fit it in my selections but a hope at odds still.

8. Baller (4)

Prefer a few of its stablemates but Baller can show a devastating turn of foot when on song. Not hopeless at odds.

9. Mazu (8)

Has booked a ticket to The Everest and should be going very close to justifying that here with a win. In saying that, Mazu has only faced small fields this prep and this will be a very packed race. That could bring him undone, other than that, he looks the winner if he handles a larger field.

10. Paulele (6)

Stalks the speed and if Mazu can’t cope with the large field Paulele can strike. J-Mac has a super record onboard and is over the odds in this.

11. Generation (10)

Racing extremely well and gave a huge sight in a group 1 last run. That is the right form for this and with even luck from the barrier can give this a red hot shake.

12. Alpine Edge (12)

Prefer in something easier.

13. Entriviere (15)

Wish it had drawn better but will be rattling home. Outstanding turn of foot and can run over these if the tempo is on.

14. Isotope (13)

Banking on the track to dry out and if it does I suspect there will be good backing for Isotope. Has stacks of ability, just needs the ground soft or better and do prefer Isotope away from Eagle Farm. Hasn’t missed the quinella over the 1200 so should be hard to beat.

15. Minhaaj (2)

Can win this at odds if the gaps present. Has the right form and turn of foot. If the track dries out Minhaaj becomes a major player.
