2022 Queen of the Turf Stakes Race Details
Race 9 at Randwick on Saturday 9 April 2022.
The Queen of the Turf Stakes is a Group 1 1600 metre weight for age race for the fillies and mares that are three-year-olds and upwards that is run by the Australian Turf Club in April. It is normally run at Randwick during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

Queen of the Turf Stakes 2022 Preview
Track: Heavy Weather: Showers.
Eighteen runners have accepted for the $1,000,000 Group 1 Queen of the Turf and there have been no early scratchings. The Maher/Eustace stable and Waterhouse/Bott stable saddle up three runners each, the Price/Kent stable and Chris Waller stable saddle up two runners each whilst the other stables only have one entry each.
Colette has opened up as the early favourite following her solid second placing behind Forbidden Love in the George Ryder Stakes. Icebath is next in the betting and she is on the quick backup from her placing in the Doncaster Mile.
Yonce is on the third line of betting and is going to try and bring her Victorian form north in an attempt to remain undefeated in seven runs.

1. Colette (9)
Ran well last start. Loves the conditions and the track/distance. Drawn well. Big chance again.
2. Lighthouse (12)
Quick backup. Ran below standard in the Doncaster Mile. Expecting a more improved run.
3. Icebath (15)
Ran a big race in the Doncaster Mile. On the quick backup, loves the conditions and is drawn well. Major player.
4. Shout The Bar (10)
Won well in the Sunline Stakes but this is much harder.
5. Hungry Heart (11)
Won’t like the ground.
6. Nimalee (3)
Ran okay at Newcastle, but will need to be better.
7. Promise of Success (4)
Won well in the Emancipation Stakes at Newcastle. Big chance if she runs up to that.
8. Vangelic (13)
Was right in the finish behind Promise of Success. Needs to replicate the run to be a chance.
9. Annavisto (6)
Solid run after doing plenty wrong. Prefer others.
10. Quantum Mechanic (14)
Can’t have.
11. Mirra Vision (2)
Outclassed.
12. Steinem (17)
Needs to improve.
13. Le Lude (18)
Outclassed.
14. Yonce (1)
Undefeated but this is a tough task. Maybe.
15. Fangirl (16)
Won the Vinery Stud Stakes well. Will need to hit a new level to win.
16. Yearning (7)
Needs to lift.
17. Barb Raider (8)
Prefer others.
