Track: Good Weather: Good

The focus here is on Anamoe. Loftier heights are set this prep with the star off to the UK however he is classy enough to take this out on his way there. Mo’unga was in and out of form last prep. Some runs didn’t want to be there and other runs was absolutely enormous. Laws Of Indices has a booming turn of foot and can run well here. Fangirl and Hinged both look dangers to Anamoe, the Chris Waller runners bring in class and are both capable of taking this out fresh. The market should play a role late in their chances.

1. Anamoe (8)

One of the stars of Australian racing resumes and while this isn’t his grand final he does deserve to be favourite. Off to the UK for a stint, Anamoe does get the right race tor resume in and 1400 is his go. The $1.80 however is short.

2. Mo’unga (11)

Really mixed form last prep so its hard to know what version of Mo’unga will show up. Its best gives this an almighty shake and it has proven it can lock horns with Anamoe. Hard to trust but very hard to leave out.

3. Laws Of Indices (10)

Has to be one of the key chances. Probably suited with a run under the belt but put in some slashing runs last prep. Factors against are the good footing and the record at the track but not dismissing it.

4. Durston (1)

A stayer resuming that will improve with the run.

5. Stockman (9)

Needs further.

6. Vega One (12)

Wouldn’t completely shock but needs Anamoe well off his A-Game.

7. Arapaho (2)

Can’t have.

8. Surefire (4)

Needs further. Follow later in the prep.

9. El Bodegon (5)

Might want a bit further and improve later on in the prep but can run a nice race fresh. No jockey booked so interesting to see what Waller does here. Brings in the right credentials to give this a shake.

10. Icebath (3)

Too hard to catch for punters. Can’t have it with its winning vs price ratio.

11. Fangirl (6)

Can show up in this from the kind draw. Kerrin McEvoy booked. Proven fresh and looks really well suited on a dry track. Definite chance if the stable elect to run here.

12. Hinged (7)

Proven fresh and over this trip, Hinged is right up to this level. Rarely misses the placings and usually hits the line hard. No jockey booked yet (probably Brenton Avdulla) so it will be interesting to see if it does run or not. Major player if it does.
