Bow Mistress Trophy 2023 Race Details

Race 7 at Hobart Racecourse on Friday 10th of February 2023.

The Bow Mistress Trophy is a Group 3 1200 metre weight-for-age race for fillies and mares run by the Tasmanian Racing Club in early February. It is held at Hobart and total prizemoney is $150,000 this year.

DANCE TO DUBAI and RIDUNA look the most likely leaders, JAJA CHABOOGIE, IN HER STRIDE, SUMMER FIRE and BELSIELLE should find positions in behind them. QUEENBOROUGH FLYER and EMILY likely have to go back from their poor draws. DUNBRODY POWER, FOR REAL LIFE, EMBELLER and SIRENE STRYKER should round them up, along with MISS TUPPENCE.

1. Dance To Dubai – Rated Price $2.10

If Carleen can cross the field here I think she’s a $1.40 chance. If she sits outside the leader she’s around an even money chance. In-form mare who puts herself on speed. Should be too good.

2. Dunbrody Power – Rated Price $61.00

Was racing well until recently. Looks a level below

3. Belsielle – Rated Price $15.00

Ran really well last start against the bias at Flemington behind Jungle Jim who subsequently won the Sale Quality. Froggy Newitt sticks and I think she can run a really good race. Top chance of those outside the market.

4. Riduna – Rated Price $7.50

Looks the danger to the favourite. Trialled well behind smart horses. Maybe bounces back to form here? Should get every possible up on speed.

5. For Real Life – Rated Price $8.50

Another mare racing in good form. Won last start at Flemington and looks like she can improve here. Gets a nice soft run on the map too – some hope!

6. Embeller – Rated Price $21.00

Trialled enormous. 1^st up for Dabernig yard and has been set for this. She looks the roughie who could spoil the party!

7. Jaja Chaboogie – Rated Price $41.00

Should land on speed and be thereabouts, but likely a level or two below these.

8. Miss Tuppence – Rated Price $71.00

Ran okay last start after a poor preparation. Will be coming from last and likely have too much to do.

9. Emily– Rated Price $24.00

Should be suited at this trip. Will be hitting the line well and finishing in the first half-dozen.

10. Sirene Stryker– Rated Price $31.00

Going super and peak fitness. Likely has too much to do here from back in the field

11. Summer Fire – Rated Price $28.00

Top local hope chasing black type. Likely outclassed but gets a nice soft run. The blowout chance?

12. In Her Stride – Rated Price $25.00

Consistent mare who should be thereabouts. Brings inferior form out of the visitors.

13. Queenborough Flyer – Rated Price $21.00

Top local hope who won well last start. Likely has to go back from the draw, or will be caught wide on-speed. Think she can run well without winning.

Bow Mistress Trophy Summary

Very keen on DANCE TO DUBAI. Think she can either lead or control the race from the breeze. Think BELSIELLE can run a drum at her best and could be worth a wager.
