The Tasmanian Derby is a 2200 metre set weights race for three-year-olds run by the Tasmanian Racing Club in early February. It is held at Hobart and total prizemoney is $150,000 this year.

CABLE DANCER, BERSERKER and ABRUPT should press forward. MIDNIGHT GLOW, UNIQUE GLOW and DUNKEL should settle behind the speed, along with HAPPY CLAN.

Fell in last start on a slow tempo, but should be even more suited here at 2200m. Pretty much a good thing.
2. Midnight Glow – Rated Price $7.00
Only real danger to the favourite. Should enjoy getting out in trip and gets the Winkers on. Must improve to be beating the fave.
3. Happy Clan – Rated Price $61.00
Fit horse that should get a nice run in behind them. Looks outclassed.
4. Cable Dancer – Rated Price $12.00
Another fit horse who comes over the ditch off a good run. Looks a level below the other visitors but can run well without surprising.
5. Berserker – Rated Price $25.00
Stable and connections having a throw at the stumps, and rightly so. Should relish the trip but looks tested.
6. Abrupt – Rated Price $21.00
Another visitor. Looks some hope but again a level below the two favoured runners in the market. Should be at peak fitness and getting to his a favoured trip but this looks hard.

8. Unique Glow – Rated Price $28.00
Will stay all day but just can’t see her beating those in front of her in the market.
