QTIS Jewel 2YO – 2022

Very exciting edition of the QTIS Jewel and the extremely promising She’sgottheboom leads the market from the O’Dea & Hoysted stable. Boris Thornton sticks for the ride and despite the awkward draw, this looks a very promising and hard to beat two year old. Glamborgini and Burnish Gold both round out the market in single figures. The rail is in the true position and I expect the track to be playing fair.

1. Refuel (9)

Does have an awkward draw to overcome but Thompson is a very talented rider and he sticks here which is quite a good push. Certainly a chance but will need things to fall into place from barrier 9 .

2. Better Rain (11)

Hard to knock Better Rain who has been able to beat everything in front of it the past two starts. No favours with the draw and some question on the form but does have plenty of upside and a good chance for multiples.

3. Toba (3)

Was unlucky last run however there are a few I prefer in this.

5. She’sgottheboom (7)

Clear one to beat and I am very excited to see She’sgottheboom run again. It deserves to be a favourite and has the early speed to overcome the wide draw. The only niggle is that it is yet to have run the 1200 but doubt that will stop it. I think the $2 is a very fair price and it’ll take a power of beating. This race looks within its reach and I expect it to firm. Well placed by the stable.

6. Burnish Gold (13)

Despite the wide draw, Burnish Gold looks the main danger to the favourite. It has already run out the 1200 and seems adaptable to all conditions thus far. Good each-way chance.

7. Even Now (4)

Racing well and the last start win was impressive. Has to take another step here off ratings but is not out of this.

8. Honkytonk Diva (10)

Suited up in trip but has 3 and a half lengths to make off the favourite and I don’t think it can. It is certainly a place chance but would need to find more to be winning this.

9. Jukebox Glow (14)

Tough draw and still a maiden. Deserves to be the odds it is.

10. Glamborgini (1)

Glamborgini can give them something to catch from barrier 1 with its good natural gate speed. Wilson-Taylor is an aggressive rider and he can pinch this with the right steer.

11. Classique Gal (2)

Sound on debut but couldn’t fit in my numbers. Rough hope.

12. Utah Nash (12)

Can’t have.

13. Lady Falvelon (5)

The market is the best guide here but would need to bring a lot to the table to be winning. I’d want to see support.

14. Tow The Line (6)

Kept safe in the market and that will be the best guide. Would have to have plenty of ability to take this out but certainly not ruling it out.
