A cracking race where Castlereagh Kid heads the betting and rightly so with its on pace running style that will prove hard to get past. War Eternal brings in some strong form from Sydney while Lucky Decision rises in trip and goes in the mix. The Cunning Fox and Prix De Turn have good claims for anyone that likes a roughie. This will be a tough staying race with good speed on.

1. Castlereagh Kid (12)

Knows how to run and can lead these up and run them ragged. Oliver sticks and it’ll land straight on the speed and be hard to catch. The one to beat in this and deserves favouritism. The stable make them tough.

2. War Eternal (2)

Great chance and will be able to stalk the favourite from the get go. Looks over the odds for mine and brings in likeable formlines.

3. Lucky Decision (5)

Should be suited by Nolen getting back aboard and the rise in trip. Solid each-way claims and looks as though the 2040 will suit.

4. Prix De Turn (3)

Drop in class after being thrown in the deep end last start. Good chance if it gets the right run.

5. The Cunning Fox (11)

1/1 over the trip so it has to come into calculations. Best roughie of this lot.

7. Bon Vivant (4)

Should get the right run under an in form Jamie Kah. In the mix at odds.

8. Can’t Go Wong (9)

Has a good turn of foot but will need luck from the draw and its last run was average. Not hopeless but not in my top 4

9. Semper Fortis (7)

Up in grade a fair way. Can win but would be a shock.

10. Elzamee (8)

Some chance and the stable know how to get them ready for the big ones. If they can run on throughout the night it will be hitting the line hard and some hope at odds.

11. Dayan Star (10)

Looks out of its depth.

12. Healing Game (1)

Can’t have.

13. El Patroness (6)

Massive run last start and looks a danger to turn the tables on the favourite with a more economical run. Just needs the gaps at the right time but looks right in this.
