With the early scratching of Miss Aria, there will be 14 runners for this year’s race. Four runners had their last start in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 9th September and two in a 3YO Fillies BM 64 Handicap over 1400m at Sandown Hillside on 30th August, while the rest all came through different races. Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott have 2 runners.

The early favourite is Miracle Of Love who has been in the money at all 3 starts and was a recent trial winner. Second favourite is Zoukerette who has 2 wins from 7 starts and resumed for 6th in the Atlantic Jewel. Third favouritism is shared between  De Sonic Boom who resumed for 3rd in the Atlantic Jewel, and Poifect who won her only start. Oz Empress ran 5th in the Atlantic Jewel. The rest of the runners are currently $12 or more.

1. Treasurway (3)

Won the Group 3 Breeders’ Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville at the end of last campaign, then resumed for 3.8 lengths 8th in the Atlantic Jewel where she was held up and went to the line untested. That was the first time in her 7 starts she has missed a trifecta spot, and can improve on her last run.

2. De Sonic Boom (10)

She ran 4th in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes over 1100m then ran 3rd in the Atlantic Jewel after beginning awkwardly and getting held up. Steps up to 1400m for the first time. Chance.

3. Dolphin Skin (6)

Returns from a 10 week let-up. All 4 of her runs have been at Flemington where she has a win and 2 places. In the mix.

4. Zoukerette (1)

She has 2 wins from 7 starts and won the Listed Tattersall’s Stakes at Eagle Farm over this distance. Ran on strongly from the back of the field for 6th in the Atlantic Jewel and the extra 200m suits. Drawn the rails and is one of the main chances.

5. Coco Sun (14)

Has won both of her starts and was a 1.7 length winner of the Listed Oaklands Plate over 1400m at Morphettville Parks last start. Respect.

6. Miracle Of Love (5)

She has been in the money at all 3 starts and ran 2nd in the Group 1 J.J. Atkins Plate over 1600m at Eagle Farm last outing. Has had a 15 week break and won a recent Scone trial. Strong chance.

7. Chill The Krug (7)

Resumes after a 21 week spell and has a win and 3 places from 5 starts. Not the worst.

8. Aprilia (9)

Raced in New Zealand earlier in the year then resumed after 21 weeks for 4 lengths 6th over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 26 August. Prefer to watch.

9. Oz Empress (4)

One of 2 runners for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott (the other is Amazonian Lass). Finished 2 lengths 5th in the Atlantic Jewel and steps up in distance for the first time. In the mix.

10. Enna’s Dream (13)

Looking for a hat-trick after winning two in a row at Bairnsdale then Sandown Hillside. Both wins were by good margins. Sneaky chance.

11. Subrising (8)

She has a win and a 2nd from her last 2 starts. She tend to get back in her races and might be disadvantaged in this large field. Could surprise.

12. Stellar Mofeed (2)

Last start winner over a maiden plate at Benalla. This is much harder. Nicely drawn and is a rough place chance.

13. Amazonian Lass (15)

Disappointed when last of 15 in the Group 2 Furious Stakes over 1200m at Randwick last start. Drawn the outside barrier and prefer others.

14. Miss Aria (12)  – SCRATCHED

15. Poifect (11)

Winner of her only start by 1.5 lengths over 1235m at Geelong. Looks to have plenty of upside and include in the chances.
