Track: Good Weather: Fine
Amenable is all the rage following an excellent run at Group 1 level here last start. Here To Shock will be on speed and could give him something to catch. Bandersnatch has been backed early, while Corner Pocket strips fitters second up.
Testa Rossa Stakes 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Bandersnatch
Has been well backed early after a good showing the Memsie Stakes last start and the camp is going well. His best would prove hard to beat in this.
2. New Mandate – SCRATCHED
3. Red Sun Sensation
Four year old stayer resuming. Happy to watch him here first up.
4. Bankers Choice
Resumes. Was third in the Blamey last prep at a mile. 1400m is short of his best but he will be strong late. Place hope.
5. Corner Pocket
Kept coming first up in a sit and sprint race. Will improve off that. Each way chance.
6. Savannah Cloud
Is no world beater but gives himself a chance by settling on the pace. D Moor back on helps.
7. Umgawa
Has been second at his last three starts. Doubt he can win but there’s no reason why he can’t run top 4.
8. Here To Shock
Offered a good kick before being run down by the well supported Devoted second up. Fitter again. Suspect he runs very well here.
9. Buffalo River
Hasn’t fired this prep. Hard to recommend.
10. Amenable
Won a high rating race here first up, then was an awesome run in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes last start. Never love taking short odds a horse who is going to settle worse than midfield but he’s clearly the one to beat.
