Golden Slipper – 2023

Many angles to be taken on this years Golden Slipper. Cylinder goes on top. J-Mac has a level of confidence going in and it has had a super prep. Little Brose has beaten Cylinder and must be respected off that. Learning To Fly has been ultra impressive to date and goes in the mix from the kind draw while King’s Gambit trialled like a bomb and goes in the mix.

1. Little Brose (5)

Rolled Cylinder in the past and won the Blue Diamond so it is very hard to knock the one this one is going. Maps well and the stable are going well. This is within reach.

2. Barber (8)

Was average last run and needs to lift off that effort. Respect any market moves.

3. Arkansaw Kid (13)

No luck whatsoever in the Blue Diamond and that is the right form for this race. Far from hopeless in this at the $41.00 mark.

4. Don Corleone (6)

Likeable effort last start in the Blue Diamond and can build off that effort in this. Worth keeping safe from the kind draw and looks the right price.

5. Cylinder (3)

Goes on top. Professional operator that can give this race a red hot shake. J-Mac gets the right map from the draw and he is going into the race confident. This looks well within reach.

6. Red Resistance (17)

Can’t have from barrier 17.

7. Shinzo (1)

Brilliant win over a handy one last start. Will need the gaps to open from barrier 1 but with respecting if that eventuates. Can win.

8. King’s Gambit (7)

Trialled like a bomb and while there were huge wraps on it early it didn’t quite live up to that. Gets its chance to bouncer back in this and you don’t see them trial any better.

9. Empire Of Japan (2)

Can’t have.

10. Learning To Fly (4)

Was favourite for this race in early markets for quite some time and looks anything but out of this race. 3/3 to date, maps well and can serve it right up to these. Huge respect at the $6.00 mark.

11. Platinum Jubilee (11)

Has done nothing wrong to date and can win with a tow into the race at the right time. Expect it to be flashing home late and can run over the top of these.

12. Blanc De Blanc (12)

Has been around the mark lately and with even luck can hit the line hard. Lane steers and is a top 4 chance.

13. Exploring (9)

Can’t have.

14. Lazzago (10)

Excellent run last start flying home and can repeat the dose here. Competitive field but the $34.00 is a good price. Keep safe.

15. Steel City (15)

Excellent win last start but prepared to risk it from the wide draw.

16. Facile (14)

Good smokey who has the Learning To Fly form and looks the wrong price at $41.00. Can win.
