CS Hayes Stakes – 2023

Track: Good Weather: Fine

A very intriguing race with the favourite Attrition looking to remain undefeated this prep. Its wins have been excellent and it looks very hard to beat with Jarrod Fry sticking in the saddle. Elliptical tackles this fresh but has form around Golden Mile which is good enough to take this race out. Bank Maur was excellent fresh behind Jacquinot and thats the right form for this race.

Tassie visitor who has good upside but looks in the deep end here.

3. He’s Heaven (11)

Prefer others.

4. Bank Maur (9)

Goes on top with the form around Jacquinot. Slight query from the draw but brings in the best form and ratings and can take this out.

5. Elliptical (14)

Big watch fresh. Has form around the likes of Golden Mile and is classy enough to take this out. The query is where to from barrier 14? Respect the market.

6. Elkington Road (4)

Has jumped out well. Proven fresh and likes the track. Maps handy from barrier 4 and can give this race a shake with the in form Jamie Mott in the saddle.

7. Bel Air (1)

Comes out of a nice form race and can measure up from the nice draw. Place chance in this field.

8. Muramasa (12)

Will improve over further. Prefer to see.

9. Foujita San (3)

Over the odds. Forget the fresh run, has excellent form last prep and maps kindly. Can win and is the best roughie of the race.

10. Daytona (8)

Can’t breakthrough in lesser races. Prefer others.

11. Cadetship (10)

Good win last start and the form has stood up since. Maps tricky from barrier 10 but J-Mac sticking is a good sign. Place chance.

12. Angry Skies (15)

Prefer others.

13. Holymanz (5)

Fell in last start in a much lesser grade so the market support is interesting. Good enough to win but have it marked far longer odds.

14. Attrition (7)

Continues to measure up this prep and has been ultra impressive. Fry is 2/2 aboard and the way it has been winning suggests it can take this out. Top 2 chance.

15. Dirty Grin (6)

This looks too tough.
