Tasmanian Oaks 2023 Race Details
Race 6 at Launceston Racecourse on Sunday 19th of February 2023.
The Tasmanian Oaks is a Listed 2100 metre set weights race for three-year-old fillies run by the Tasmanian Turf Club in February. It is held at Launceston as the feature event of the meeting. The total prize money is $150,000 this year.

Soul Choice looks the only real speed in the race, and looks the leader. I’d expect Just A Needs to land in behind, along with Aesculus and Hoops. Sirius Princess, Unique Glow, Badda Boom Baby and Cloudy Nights should round them up from the back

Impressive winner last start in the Strutt Stakes. Should control the race and kick clear on the corner. Looks a moral.
2. Just A Needs – Rated Price $12.00
Ran well behind the favourite but can’t see her turning the tables.
3. Unique Glow – Rated Price $51.00
Will be giving better horses a head start. Looks outclassed.
4. Cloudy Nights – Rated Price $35.00
Very slim chance, if any. Ran home okay but again, looks outclassed.
5. Hoops – Rated Price $18.00
Inter-state raider who brings okay form. Should get a nice ride by Liam Riordan and be thereabouts. Place hope.
6. Badda Boom Baby – Rated Price $4.00
NSW-based runner who brings form good enough to win this. Ran well last start when winning. Can test the favourite but will be giving her a head start in running.
7. Aesculus – Rated Price $61.00
Gets a soft run in behind them but don’t think she’s up to these. SA form generally inferior to those visiting from VIC and NSW.
8. Sirius Princess – Rated Price $41.00
Ran well in the VIC Oaks without placing. Can run a cheeky race and will stay the trip. Blowout chance.
