2. Nerodio (7)

This 8YO Playing God gelding is the oldest runner this year. He finished 2.5 lengths 6th in the Prince Of Wales and has 11 wins to his name, but has never won in 11 outings to Ascot before (although he has placed 7 times). Gets winkers on for the first time. Place chance.

3. Clemenceau (8)

One of 2 runners for Chris & Michael Gangemi (the other is Go Forward). He has only been in their stable a short time after transferring from Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes, and has not raced at Ascot before. He resumes from a 24 week spell and goes well fresh. In the mix.

4. Man Crush (4)

Fought gamely for a narrow 2nd in the Prince Of Wales last outing after 2 lengths 5th in the Crawford when resuming. Place chance.

5. Red Can Man (5)

Ran 2nd in this race last year. He finished 3rd in the Prince Of Wales after winning the Crawford when first-up. Should fight out the finish.

6. My Bella Mae (1)

She won the Placid Ark Stakes on this day last year and is the only mare in the race this year. She tend to get back in her races and fly home. Last start she finished 5th in the Prince Of Wales on a leader-dominated day. She is better than that. Winning chance.

7. Ghost Who Walks (2)

Resumes after a 16 week spell and hasn’t raced on a track that wasn’t rain-affected for quite some time. Won a recent trial at Belmont. Could surprise.

8. Laverrod (11)

Finished 10th in this race last year then was spelled for 51 weeks. Resumed for 4th in the Prince Of Wales which was a good effort after such a long break. Gets blinkers on for the first time. Don’t dismiss.
