NJC Spring Stakes 2023 Race Details
Race 7 at Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday the 18th of November 2023.
The NJC Spring Stakes is a Group 3 race held at Newcastle Racecourse and is run over 1600 metres. It is for horses aged three-years-old and is run under under set weight conditions. The total prize money for this years edition is $250,000.

NJC Spring Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Handy race with some good up and comers. Invincible Spy can land on the speed and prove hard to get past. The booking of Tim Clark is ideal. Until Valhalla raced away from them last run but loses Gibbons. Kintyre has the best form of the bunch but has a wide draw to overcome and has been up a while this prep. Influential and Just In Time are both lightly raced and round out the chances.
NJC 3YO Spring Stakes 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Kintyre (8)
Brings in the best form to the race and I have on top. The negatives are that it has been up a while and might be busted off the wide run last start but undeniably has form that trumps these and with the right run in transit from the gate if more fuel is left in the tank Kintyre will be very hard to beat in this affair.
2. Influential (7)
Good upside and lightly raced. Sees it hardest test to dater but trending the right way. Top 3 chance.
3. Invincible Spy (9)
Good last start win when leading from start to finish and the runner up has won again since. Bold chance.
4. Sly Boots (6)
Comes out of the right camp and maps well. Good hope.
5. Jurisprudence (13)
Can’t have.
6. Metallic Ruler (3)
Going well this prep but yet to tick this distance off. Maps well and has claims in this.
7. Heads You Lose (12)
Can’t have.
8. Uncle Harry (10)
Prefer others.
9. Until Valhalla (5)
Lovely win last start. Loses Gibbons is the knock but this race is well within reach. Keep safe.
10. Vieste (14)
Prefer others.
11. Genzano (11)
Going well but decent leap in grade here.
12. Just In Time (4)
Lightly raced with the gun jockey, good map and out of a strong stable. Ticks boxes and is a market watch late to its chances.
13. Mah Ali (2)
Prefer others.
14. Kind Words (1)
Too short for a decent leap in grade. Place chance best.
