The Max Lees Classic is a feature race held at Newcastle Racecourse and is run over 900 metres. It is for horses aged 2 years-old and is run under set weights and penalties conditions. Colts and Geldings receive 56.5kgs and Fillies carry 54.5kgs. The total prize money is $160,000 this year.

Track: Good Weather: Fine

Small field engaged and plenty of first starters. Plenty to like about the trials of Gram. Admittedly Godolphin had a tough recent carnival but they look to have a smart one here. Market Magic is a Colt sired by Capitalist that looks to move well. Body Of Venus is trained at the track and goes in the mix. Triple Yes was solidly placed recently and has strong claims.
