All Aged Stakes – 2022

Track: Soft to Heavy Weather: Mostly Fine.

Seventeen runners have accepted for the $600,000 Group 1 All Aged Stakes with three of them being emergencies and there have been no early scratchings. The Annabel Neasham stable has three runners engaged, the Chris Waller stable and Waterhouse/Bott stables both have two runners to saddle up each meanwhile the rest of the trainers just have one entry each.

Forbidden Love has opened the early favourite on the back of her solid fourth placing in the Doncaster Mile. She is going to love coming back to 1400m after the mile was just a touch too much for her last start. In The Congo is currently the second favourite in the betting and he will be on the quick backup following his second placing to Mazu in the Arrowfield Sprint.

Mo’unga rounds out the top three in the betting and is coming into this on the back of a freshen-up. He was last seen running a slashing second in the Futurity Stakes and he is going to love the improving track.

1. Mo’unga (9)

Freshened up. Those fresh legs could be vital here on an improving track. Drawn okay and 1400m looks ideal providing they don’t get too far back.

2. Cascadian (1)

Slashing run in the Doncaster. James McDonald sticks and the improving track helps.

3. Kolding (13)

Will appreciate the improving track but he is a shade of his former self.

4. Zoutori (15)

Cross over nose band off. Improving track suits. Prefer others.

5. Ellsberg (7)

Ran well enough in the Doncaster. This is much easier and is drawn to be a threat.

6. Laws of Indices (2)

Back to 1400m suits and back in grade also helps. Gets an improving track and nice draw. Could be a chance.

7. Olmedo (3)

Outclassed.

8. Forbidden Love (16)

An ideal situation for her here back to 1400m but has drawn the widest. May have to do some work. If she can get a nice run, she is a chance.

9. Tofane (12)

His final race of his career. Could run a cheeky race.

10. Sierra Sue (6)

Four weeks off since a forgiving run in the All-Star Mile. Fresh legs and back to 1400m suits. Big chance.

11. Nimalee (14)

On the quick back up after winning the Queen of the Turf over the mile. Back to 1400m is okay but now faces the boys too. Place chance.

12. Shout The Bar (11)

Smashed her opposition in the Sunline Stakes last time out. This is harder.

13. Hungry Heart (8)

Improving track suits but she is now 63 days between runs.

14. In The Congo (10)

Quick back up from his second placing to Mazu. Looks to be the leader and 1400m will see him out. Will win if left alone.

15e. Overpass (4)

Big chance if he gets a start.

16e. Shelby Sixtysix (5)

Unlikely to get a start but if he does. Place chance.

17e. Mr Mozart (17)

Unlikely to get a start but can run a big race if he does run.
