2022 James H B Carr Stakes Race Details
Race 5 at Randwick on Saturday 16 April 2022.
The James H B Carr Stakes is a Group 3 1400 metre set weights plus penalties race for the three-year-old fillies that is run by the Australian Turf Club in April. It is normally run at Randwick during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

James H B Carr Stakes 2022 Preview
Track: Soft to Heavy Weather: Mostly Fine.
Thirteen runners have accepted for the $160,000 Group 3 James H B Carr Stakes and there have been no early scratchings. The Matthew Smith stable, Waterhouse/Bott stable, Anthony Cummings stable and John O’Shea stable are all saddling up two runners each whilst the other stables have just the one entry each.
Espiona has opened up the dominant favourite on the back of her poor run in the Coolmore Classic, finishing almost six lengths back in eighth. She has had 35 days off in preparation for this contest. Comrade Rosa is next in the betting following her 3.6 length six placing in the P J Bell Stakes.
Party For One rounds out the top three and she is also coming off a run in the P J Bell Stakes where she finished just in front of Comrade Rosa in fifth.

1. Festival Dancer (11)
Pre-Race earmuffs off. First-up. Might take the run but her previous form has her right in this. Prefer to watch.
2. Espiona (2)
Back from a freshen-up following her failure in the Coolmore Classic. At her best, she is hard to beat.
3. Robodira (5)
Forgive last start being wide throughout. On her best, she can make a race of it. Place chance.
4. Cap Estel (10)
Ran well behind Straight Arron last start. Back to 1400m is okay. Place chance.
5. Party For One (8)
Can’t have.
6. Comrade Rosa (1)
Ran okay in the P J Bell Stakes. Drawn ideally and gets an improving track. Chance.
7. Dalchini (7)
Will need to improve to be a chance.
8. Banana Queen (4)
Found it too wet last start. Improving track suits. Could run a cheeky race.
9. Ottilie (9)
Going for three-in-a-row. Fighting fit but majorly up in grade. Maybe.
10. Ellenmac (6)
Pre-Race earmuffs. Prefer others.
11. Zelady Luck (13)
Will be fit and ready. Likely to lead from the wide gate. Could run a nice race.
12. Dynasties (3)
First-up. Rather watch.
13. Galactic Angel (12)
Can’t have.
