Brave Mead was a strong winner fresh. No harder here and goes in the mix despite coming up with an awkward draw. Don Corleone gets the right favours from barrier 1 but will need some gaps to appear at the right time. Maharba had the measure of Brave Mead last time they met and can give this a shake. Pivot City has good upside and should go close in this field.

1. Brave Mead (11)

Strong win last start off the back of a let up. Showed plenty of fight to the line and the form was franked last weekend with King Colorado running a game 2nd. This race suits.

2. Maharba (5)

Has beaten Brave Mead in the past and goes in the mix off that effort. Mixes form which is a worry but its best wins a race like this. Goes close from the draw.

3. Don Corleone (1)

Has claims fresh from barrier 1. Like its form from last prep and is a market watch here against this bunch.

4. Scheelite (3)

Hasn’t placed from 4 goes on this track and may be looking for further. Keep an eye on the market moves.

5. Lakota Fire (8)

Can’t have.

6. Wolfy (9)

Best roughie of the race. Good win last prep and backed it up with another. Has form around some likeable types but does tend to mix its form. Goes in here at the good odds.

7. Scully (4)

Over the odds. Big win 2 back before a lacklustre effort last run. Can bounce back and wouldn’t shock.

8. Hello World (2)

Luckless last start and maps tricky but finds a good race to go on with things. Lane is on fire and he steers in this.

9. Raikoke (7)

Prefer others.

10. Pivot City (10)

Has good upside and showed enough fresh when well in the market. Lane steers which is a huge tick and this race suits.

11. Legacies (6)

Has form around Veight and was very hard in the market a few times last prep. Mixes form but its best wins this. Keep an eye on market moves and Kah steering is ideal.
