Race 9 at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday the 2nd of September 2023.
The Tramway Stakes is a Group 2 race held at Randwick Racecourse and is run over 1400 metres. It is run under set weights and penalties conditions and is for horses three-years-old and upwards. The total prize money is $300,000 this year.

Tramway Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
A wide open affair despite what the market suggests. Love what Olentia has done to date and will take beating in this. Pericles knows how to win and maps for a soft run. Hope In Your Heart resumes from a spell and is classy enough to take this out while Zeyrek has the class and My Oberon might want wet ground but does have good claims in this.

Keep an eye on betting for its chances in this. Has to lift but can win.

Wants it wet. Maps well but might not get conditions to suit.
3. Osipenko (18) – SCRATCHED
4. Pericles (7)
Consistent runner. Should give a bold sight from the draw and has good claims from the leading stable.
5. Cepheus (4) – SCRATCHED
6. Fireburn (1)
Very classy when on song. May need the run but can’t dismiss off prior form.
7. Diamil (16)
Prefer others.
8. Going Global (6)
Strong jockey push fresh. Has good claims and comes from the leading stable. Keep an eye on betting.
9. Zeyrek (2)
Has plenty of class and maps for the run of the race. May want further but does look right up to these on best form.
10. Madame Pommery (19)
Under rated and can give a sight in this field. Did little wrong fresh and wouldn’t have to be improving much to take this out.
11. New Mandate (3)
Prefer others.
12. Hope In Your Heart (8)
The runner that is over the odds. Resumes off a spell and love what it did last prep. Slightly sticky draw but looming over the odds in this.
13. Skyman (12)
Can’t have.
14. Sky Lab (14)
Loved the last start run and is well and truly up to these. Tough draw but best roughie in the race and can storm over the top of them if things fall into place for it
15. Democracy Manifest (11)
Looks a bit outclassed. Strong runner but would need to find a length or two for this.
16. Olentia (9)
Has done little wrong to date. Has stacks of upside and should give this race a shake. Maps kindly from barrier 9 and has heavy claims. Deserving fav.
17e. Palmetto (5)
Market watch fresh. Far from hopeless at odds.
18e. Williamsburg (17) – SCRATCHED
19e. Hoo Ya Mal (15)
