Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes – 2022

Track: Good   Weather: Fine

A mix of form lines is brought into this group 3. A lot of well-known stables across Australia are represented here headed by Peter Moody with the current favourite Nanagui. Ruthless Dame is on the next line of betting with Jamie Kah sticking in the saddle. Godolphin has Va Via launching from the ideal draw with Oliver steering. Competitive race with plenty of angles.

1. Kiki Express (9)

Certainly a chance. Showed good promise last prep & Damien Lane back aboard is a plus.

2. Mumbai Jewel (3)

Suited with the rise in trip and brings in a likeable form line. Good hope at each-way odds.

3. Va Via (3)

Overcame trouble to win and the blinkers seemed to be a good move. In the mix.

4. Berry Bubbly (15)

Needs luck from the draw and does look a bit one dimensional with its racing pattern. Some hope if the track suits leaders but deserves its current price.

5. Nanagui (11)

Form out of its race has been franked and warrants plenty of respect with the booking of James McDonald. Deserves to be well in the market but luck in running will be crucial for it.

6. Blonde Venture (1)

Doesn’t look the right form-lines for this and is thrown into the deep end.

7. Kiko (10)

Will need luck in running but did overcome trouble last run. Some hope at odds but where it lands from the draw is some query.

8. Ruthless Dame (13)

Eased down and ran well on debut, albeit the form hasn’t exactly been franked. The jockey and trainer combination has to be respected but does look slightly short from the awkward draw and a query on the form.

9. Moko (12)

Like Moko up in trip but is drawn out wide so Zahra will need to be timing his run to perfection. Will need luck but has an each-way hope and this looks the strongest form-lines out of these coming off a sound effort behind Revolutionary Miss. That should hold up here and any improvement will see it hard to beat.

10. La Gioia (6)

Looks about the right price. Did cover ground on debut but the winner looked to have its measure after striking trouble so it isn’t in my numbers.

11. She’s Pretty Rich (8)

The market will be handy here but did show enough on debut and Ben Allen is riding in good form. Does draw kinder than a lot of it’s rivals. Seeing some support would be ideal.

12. Winnertakesitall (5)

Not a bad chance at all. The form looks right for this race and does map a lot better than most of it’s rivals. In with a solid chance here at a big price.

13. Habeebati (2) –  SCRATCHED

14. Galeka (7)

Has talent but found trouble on debut and this barrier does no favours. Suited up in trip but prefer others out of its race.

15. La Danseuse Rouge (14)

Solid jumpout and has to be some hope off the back of that but market support would be a good indicator.
