The Randwick Guineas is a Group 1 race held at Randwick racecourse. It is run over 1600 metres and was previously called the Canterbury Guineas. It is run under set weight conditions and is for horses aged three-years-old The total prize money is $1,000,000 this year.

Randwick Guineas 2023 Preview
Track: Fine Weather: Good
Aft Cabin comes up favourite. Disappointing last run and will need to lift to be taking this out. Osipenko ran past it last start and will get its chance again from barrier 4. Zou Tiger and Matcha Latte crossed the line just behind Osipenko and both are right in the mix. Attrition may not be racing here but warrants respect if it does.

1. Manzoice (14)
Will improve over further.
2. Osipenko (4)
Drove late to get the win after receiving an outstanding ride. Maps Kindly here and can give an excellent sight in this field with Nash retaining the ride. Absolute top 2 chance.
3. Aft Cabin (11)
Still believe Aft Cabin is slightly over rated. No doubting the talent is there but not overly surprised at the loss last start. Gets its chance to bounce back here but barrier 10 is a concern and the $2.70 is rock bottom odds.
4. Zou Tiger (6)
Can’t see why Zou Tiger sits double the odds of Aft Cabin. There is every chance it runs past it again and maps kinder than the favourite. Hard to split a few of these but Zou Tiger certainly has claims.
5. Matcha Latte (5)
Have it a sneaky hope fresh and it was a brilliant run. Strips fitter 2nd up, ran past the favourite and looks every chance of taking this out. The $10.00 is kind.
6. Williamsburg (8)
Needs to lift on current form.
7. Promitto (9)
Prefer in something easier.
8. Communist (7)
Needs to lift on form but gets a good opportunity to do so with Purton in the saddle and striking a suitable race. Can go close against this lot.
9. Lindermann (12)
Brilliant last start win and just has to hold its form to give this a shake. Barrier 12 is the query but trusting if Waller lets it run then this race is well within its grasp.
10. Holymanz (11) – SCRATCHED
11. The Fortune Teller (13) – SCRATCHED
12. Attrition (1)
Likely to run elsewhere. Enormous claims if it does start here and was very unlucky last start in a race of similar depth. Goes on top if it gets a run.
13. Hollywood Hero (2)
Broke maiden with an excellent steer. Much harder here. Prefer others.
14. Cut On A Dime (3)
Good run and win fresh but this looks too tough.
