Linlithgow Stakes – 2022

Track: Soft Weather: Overcast

Cracking race with the favourite Turaath coming off a last start win and gets international raider William Buick in the saddle. Old Flame continues to find bad luck and comes up short enough. Pride Of Jenni is having a good prep and maps for a nice run along the rails while Jimmy The Bear doesn’t know how to run a bad race and Sinawann can be pouncing on them late.

1. Sinawann (14)

Building up to a win this prep and gets the chance here with good speed engaged. Luck will be needed from the draw but Sinawann is capable of a large finish when on song. Can win.

2. Streets Of Avalon (8)

Prefer others.

3. The Inferno (7)

Going along okay but does bring class into this field and certainly has the turn of foot to win this race. Keep very safe and respect any market moves.

4. Catalyst (13)

Poor last run but now overlooked by the market. Its runs prior would give this a shake, great chance at large odds if Zahra can get into the running line from barrier 13.

5. Crosshaven (6)

One of the hardest gallopers to catch in racing. Certainly has ability, likes the course and the jockey knows it well but is also hard to trust from a winning perspective, particularly in the past 2 years with 1 win from 14 runs. Can win but prefer others.

6. Ironclad (10)

Can win this first up at large odds. Usually gets better over further but has won 2/5 fresh and 7/18 overall in its career. Extremely consistent galloper and worth backing if the market respects it fresh.

7. Turaath (3)

Won well last start in a diving finish, had no luck the run prior. Buick comes across from the UK and takes the steer. Turaath is unbeaten over the track and trip and gets a gun jockey aboard. Hard to beat.

8. Old Flame (2)

I was heavily against Old Flame last start at the price and think it is under the odds again here. A galloper that tends to find trouble more often than not. Has ability but comes up short in the market again. Albeit, J-Mac on is a large tick but I’d like to see it win again before considering. Hard to beat but well found.

9. Wild Planet (5)

Can’t have.

10. Morvada (16)

Racing really well, its just the map that looks tricky here for Morvada with good speed drawn inside of it. If Meech can ping the lids and find the front it will be in this for a long way. She knows the horse well and it is flying. Good chance.

11. Jimmy The Bear (12)

Jimmy just doesn’t know how to run poorly. I have a large amount of respect for this galloper. He makes his own luck , savages the line and is an owners dream. Huge chance in this with even luck from the draw.

12. Wicklow Town (11)

Can’t have.

13. Brigatine (9) – scratched

14. Poland (15)

The best version of Poland would go close to taking this out. It is overdue for a win and hasn’t had any success with Newitt in the saddle yet but worth respecting any market moves.

15. Pride Of Jenni (1)

Pride Of Jenni is having a fruitful prep and should give a nice sight from barrier 1. Moor takes the steer and it has raced well on this course in the past. Top 4 player and just needs clean air in the straight.

16. Lord Vladivostok (4)

Should plonk on the speed and get a nice run from the draw with the light weight. Well tried in early markets and does enjoy soft footing. This race is within reach.
