Danehill Stakes – 2022

Track: Soft Weather: Fine

The market is lead by Giga Kick who looks very hard to beat and brings in some strong credentials. A massive improver is Swiss Exile who was poor last run but prior form around the likes of Sweet Ride and Nettuno reads well for this race. Buenos Noches has plenty of upside and should be hard to hold out while Spacewalk is yet to put it all together but continues to race well and should give this a shake.

1.  Swiss Exile (10)

Very poor last run but the prior effort rates well against this lot. Form around Nettuno and Sweet Ride is nice for this race and Mcneil can take Swiss Exile straight to the front. It has a good running pattern and if any of the strong chances in the race and striking trouble it’ll be Swiss Exile who pinches this race.

2. Brereton (1)

Hasn’t come up this prep. Needs to see more.

3. Giga Kick (11)

Exciting prospect who faces a good test here. Williams sticks and this race looks very winnable. Has been running slick sectionals and good ratings. Ticks all the boxes and should be hard to beat.

4. Cannonball (9)

Not quite going as well this prep but still has the talent to take this race out. Keep safe.

5. Buenos Noches (12)

Impressive last start after copping a check and recovering to still win. It takes a good horse to do what it did and looks well placed to give this race a mighty shake.

6. Spacewalk (5)

Tends to do a big wrong but brings in the right form, maps well and just needs to nail down to the task late to the line to be going close in this field. The camp are on fire and its worth respecting any market moves.

7. Stupendo (2)

Prefer others.

8. Doull (4)

Just fair fresh but has been quickly dismissed by the market. Go off the debut and it starts a lot shorter in this. Massive hope at odds.

9. Zou Sensation (7)

Did well last run but this is a decent leap in depth. Prefer others but respect any market moves.

10. Great Barrier Reef (6)

Not out of this race. Its debut win rated well and Tribeca Star who was behind it has been racing well in the mid weeks. Whether that is the right form for this race remains a question but Waller knows how to place them.

11. General Barca (3)

Ultra impressive on debut making very good ground from the back. To the eye, that looked the right kind of win to be going close in this. Worth keeping very safe.

12. Sunzou (8)

Can’t have.
