Maribyrnong Trial Stakes 2022 Race Details
Race 1 at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday the 1st of October 2022.
The Maribyrnong Trial Stakes is a Listed race at Flemington Racecourse and is run over 1000 metres. It is a set weights race for two-year-olds run by the Victoria Racing Club in early October as part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. The total prize money this year is $175,000.

Track: Soft Weather: Fine
Following the early scratchings of Sandual and Kata Kapi, nine 2YOs remain for this years race with six colts and three fillies. None of them have raced before. Trainers James Cummings and Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) both have two runners. Two runners are sired by Exceed And Excel who has produced several winners of this race including Madeenaty in 2016, Kuroshio in 2012, Moesis in 2008 and Exceedingly Good in 2007.
The early favourite is Charm Stone who will be ridden by in-form jockey Jamie Kah. Second favourite is Exceed And Excel filly Aditi from the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott stable. Third favourite is Beluga Express from the Ben & JD Hayes stable. Acapella Moon is from the same stable as the early favourite, while Mount Olympus is from the Tony & Calvin McEvoy stable. All other runners are currently more than $10.
