Rose Of Kingston Stakes – 2022

Track: Soft Weather: Fine

A really good race where Yearning wouldn’t have to improve much off her first up run to be taking this out. Fortunate Kiss comes out of the same race and had no luck while Argentia is top shelf and can win this on return. The best version of Odeum could blow these away and Pride Of Jenni returned to form last run and should give this a shake.

1.  Yearning (1)

Rocketed home first up in a very good performance and was unlucky not to have won the race.The form stood up well out of the Let’s Elope Stakes. My worry with Yearning is it was very flat 2nd and 3rd up last prep however I like it being kept at 1400. Barrier 1 for a horse that settles off the speed is never easy but Flemington is a wide open track, if Yearning can bullock into the clear and repeat an effort of its first up run it should be winning this.

2. Silent Sovereign (8)

Flies fresh but prefer others on form.

3. Sirileo Miss (11)

3/4 wins first up and should be landing on the speed and giving a sight. Major player in this field.

4. Tycoon Evie (12)

Not quite proven at this level yet but racing well enough to consider. Will need luck from the draw but does have a sneaky top 4 hope.

5. Argentia (6)

Weary of Argentia who just had the one poor run last prep. Flies on this track, flies fresh and ticks boxes. Massive danger.

6. Odeum (3)

Hard to know where Odeum is at. Luckless 2 runs back before being very poor at its last start. Hasn’t raced for a long time but its best could blow these away. Massive yard and market watch.

7. She’s All Class (5)

Racing okay and does bring in some strong form. Probably wasn’t in the right part of the track last run so the finishing position is better than it looks. Chance at odds.

8. Excelida (7)

Likes this track and goes very well second up. Michael Dee will need an ounce of luck from barrier 7 but it has the talent to take this out.

9. Douceur (13)

Tricky to catch but has a solid turn of foot when things fall into place. Keep safe.

10. Megamea (10)

Running well but doesn’t win out of turn. Stackhouse knows the horse really well. Leaning to others with the better form but also wouldn’t shock.

11. Pride Of Jenni (9)

Found form again last run and should give these something to catch. Big danger if it can replicate its last run.

12. Standoff (2)

Can’t have.

13. Fortunate Kiss (4)

Second pick. Was luckless behind Yearning and should get the right run from barrier 4. Looks big odds at the $18.00 mark and is the best roughie in the race.
