Chipping Norton Stakes – 2023

Track: Soft Weather: Good

All eyes again on Anamoe. He was excellent fresh and looks very hard to beat again lobbing into what should be a good spot from the kind draw. Fangirl was very good last start and can find its way into the placings against these. Good to see Huetor back in business and it is a classy operator who can give this race a shake. Gap to the rest, this looks Anamoe’s race to lose and his record when settling in the first few is impeccable.

1. Anamoe (3)

Is a champion and a winner. Excellent win fresh, maps well and everything points to him winning again. The odds are short but he is impossible to tip against.

2. Mo’unga (11)

Getting hard to catch but its best is right up there with Anamoe and a very in form Hugh Bowman flies across from Hong Kong. Needs luck from the barrier but if on song can really give this a shake.

3. Knights Order (7)

Loves this track but likely to improve later on in the prep and over further.

4. Huetor (9)

Classy galloper that isn’t out of its depth here and has an excellent second up record. Flies over this trip and rates as a place chance.

5. Laws Of Indices (6)

Due for a win and needs to improve to be taking this out but can flash late when it finds luck. The poor record at Randwick is off putting.

6. Stockman (10)

Follow later on in the prep.

7. Arapho (2)

Looking for further. Prefer others.

8. Beneaud (5)

Can’t have.

9. El Bodegon (12)

Has a few lengths to find on the favourite in this and has to do it from the wide draw. Prefer others.

10. Montefilia (8)

Classy enough to win fresh but this may be too sharp for her. Will improve over further.

11. Fangirl (1)

Ripper return hitting the line with plenty of intent. No jockey booked at this stage and barrier 1 may be more of a hinderance than a positive but this race is well within reach and is worth keeping safe.

12. Hinged (4)

No jockey booked at this stage so may be heading elsewhere. In the mix against this lot and maps well. Classy enough to be taking this out.
