Calaway Gal Stakes 2022 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Good
Empress Of Wonder comes out of the right form race and looks nicely placed in this field, it will need some luck from the draw. Its stable mate Excel D’or has trialled well and should give this a shake. Freeman debuted nicely from the Chris Munce stable and can go on with things here while Malaboom has been very well tried in early markets and can take this out.

1. Freeman (8)
Won well on debut and finds a good chance to back things up here. Collett sticks and she is racing well, first look at the track is a query but that is the case with a lot of these.
2. Empress Of Wonder (12)
Solid debut and the ratings have stood up out of it. Barrier 12 is tricky and its stablemate has trialled well so it will be interesting to see what the stable do come race day. This race is within reach.
3. Keyboard (4)
Has found Miss Coota too slick to date on both occasions and that form does look nice for this race. $20.00 seems a big price, could be worth a speck each way against this lot.
4. Bertinelli (1)
Solid debut and can go one better here from the nice draw. Top 4 chance and gets the services of KWT, good chance in this field.
5. Malaboom (2)
Has been smacked in early markets and does find Ben Thompson and a kind draw. Did a bit wrong on debut but should benefit from that and finds the right race. Keep safe.
6. Trifling (3)
Okay debut but finds a tricky race, prefer others.
7. Girls In Pearls (9)
This looks too tough.
8. Mixed Spice (5)
Can’t have.
9. Excel D’or (11)
Loved the trials and finds a suitable race to kick off in. Won by 5 lengths in a recent effort in good time and if it can bring that race day then this is well within reach. Keep safe.
10. Within Reason (7)
Can’t have off the trials.
11. Hinata (10)
The Orman and Gollan combination are always a fruitful one and they look nicely placed in this field. Respect any market moves, trials were rock solid.
12. Must Be The Money 61)
