Bribie Handicap – 2022

Track: Good Weather: Good

Solid field engaged and Je Suit Belle is knocking on the door. It is due for a change of luck this prep and only got going late last run and arguably should have won. This field is within reach. Shooting For Gold flies on this track but mixed its form last prep. Sneaky Five was excellent when resuming after a long spell. A query staying at the 1000m but it will take some holding out while the best versions of Simply Fly and Alpine Edge can give this a shake.

Four of the 12 runners had their last start in the Swiss Ace Plate over 1000m at Sunshine Coast om 19 November, and 5 runners are first-up from a spell.

2. Shooting For Gold (1)

Shooting For Gold goes well fresh, loves this track and maps to do no work. With its running pattern barrier 1 has to be a query but if Lloyd can get 0ut at the right time it will be hitting the line hard. Major player here.

3. Simply Fly (7)

Simply Fly has been mixing its form but on its day certainly has the class to beat this bunch. It comes into this third up and ready to peak, its worth respecting any moves for it.

4. Le Palmier (2)

Having a fruitful prep and has been racing in great fashion. Drawn to get all the favours here and can give this race a shake.

5. Doctor Zous (3)

Flies fresh and can certainly take this race out at massive odds. Respect the market aa to how ready it is.

6. Je Suis Belle (4)

Heavily tried in early markets and I can see why. The ride was questionable last start and the timing slightly poor. If it can be within range it has the turn of foot to win this race, albeit is due for another win. Hard to beat in this.

7. Sneaky Five (6)

Loved the return of Sneaky Five. It had a long time off and throttled to the line late. It remains some query staying at the 1000 but if within range it absolutely has the turn of foot to beat these and looks back on track.

8. Archer’s Paradox (8)

Can’t have.

9. Alpine Edge (12)

The best version of Alpine Edge would give this race a massive shake. It was in some quality races last prep and has won twice fresh from 3 goes. 1/1 over this track and trip, hard to beat if they back it in. Respect the market.

10. Rubiquitous (9)

Flies fresh (3-3) and looks well placed in this field. 1/1 on this track, Thornton rides for the first time and she is in good form. This race is within reach and it is one of the major players.

11. Genzai The Wolf (5)

Prefer others.

12. Glorious Ruby (11)

Can’t have.

13. Tango Fever (11)

Raced well on debut in open company and was respected in the market. That form has to be a slight query here but it was a solid enough effort to consider.
