Rough Habit Plate 2024 Race Details
Race 9 at Doomben Racecourse on Saturday the 18th of May 2024.
The Rough Habit Plate is a Group 3 race held at Doomben Racecourse over 2000 metres. It is for three-year-olds and is run under set weights conditions. The total prize money is $250,000 this year.

Rough Habit Plate 2024 Preview
Track: Slow Weather: Cloudy
With the early scratching of Noisy Boy there will be 16 runners and 4 emergencies for the 2024 Seven Rough Habit Plate with 16 geldings, one colt and 3 fillies. Eight runners had their last start in the Group 2 Queensland Guineas over 1600m at Eagle Farm on 4th May (won by Kintyre) and two in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate over 2000m at Randwick on 20th April (won by Kintyre), while the rest came via different races. Two runners are sired by Dundeel and two by Kermadec. Six runners are trained by Chris Waller.
The early favourite is Autumn Angel who was the winner of the Group 1 ATC Oaks over 2400m at Randwick on 13th April. Second favourite is Tannhauser who was 4th in the Frank Packer Plate. Third favourite is Kintyre who won the Frank Packer then won the Queensland Guineas. Port Lockroy was caught wide before finishing nicely for 7th in the Qld Guineas, while Press Link came 3rd in that race but has drawn very wide here. The other runners are currently $12 or longer.
