Race 8 at Scone Racecourse on Saturday the 18th of May 2024.
The Dark Jewel Classic is a Group 3 race held at Scone Racecourse and is run over 1400 metres. It is for fillies and mares and is run under quality handicap conditions. The total prize money is $250,000 this year.

Dark Jewel Classic 2024 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Shadows Of Love has built up a superb record. Goes well with Berry aboard and will be the one flying late. Ruthless Dame has the class for this but will need to overcome the wide draw. Banana Queen has been sparingly raced lately but has nice claims and does make a good match with Gibbons aboard. Overriding gets a good draw and should have a nice time of things.

Has a huge case here despite the wide draw. Has contested some strong races to date in its career and has the class edge on this field. Will need a bit to go right from the draw but looms as a huge hope.
2. Ghaanati (1)
Been honest so far this prep but may strike trouble from barrier 1 with its racing pattern. Can win but will need luck.
3. Po Kare Kare (13)
Can’t have.
4. Overriding (3)
Racing well and has been around the mark all starts this prep. Short enough but can run into the placings.
5. Shadows Of Love (9)
Logical danger to the on top selection. Boasts a strong turn of foot, well weighted and will be there at the finish when it matters most. Top 2 hope.
6. Short Shorts (11)
Capable and flies for Collett. Will need luck from the draw but has the ability.
7. Pippali (5)
Can’t have.
8. Mirra View (17)
Can’t have.
9. Razeta (14)
Good enough to win but needs it very heavy!
10. Wolves (8)
Can’t have.
11. Banana Queen (6)
Nice set up from barrier 6 and weighted well against this field. Likeable second up record and goes super over this trip.

Prefer others.
13. Fall For Cindy (4)
Has the ability and did win nicely last start, albeit in an easier race than this. In the mix with 53kgs here.

This looks too tough.

Has been backed in early markets coming off a good debut win. Place hope.
